Valerie Ormond retired after a 25-year career as a naval intelligence officer and began her second career as a writer. She founded her own business, Veteran Writing Services, LLC, providing companies and organizations professional writing, editing, and consulting services.
Valerie’s novels, Believing In Horses, and Believing In Horses, Too, won Gold Medals in the Military Writers Society of America book awards and six other first-place awards in national competitions including the State of Maryland’s Touch of Class Award. Her third novel, Believing In Horses Out West, releases in September 2021.
Valerie’s non-Fiction stories have been published in books, and her articles and poetry have appeared internationally in books, magazines, newspapers, and blogs. The Military Writers Society of America awarded her the 2019 President’s Award for her work supporting the non-profit organization and other writers.
